My first recommendation to any new reader is to find the form of reading that works best for you.
Not everyone wants to sit down and read a 900-page book, and honestly, that can feel intimidating at first. On top of that, physical books may not be the best fit for everyone’s lifestyle or reading journey. They can be heavy, bulky, and inconvenient to carry around throughout the day.
Depending on your schedule, commute, or daily routine, physical books simply may not be the right medium for you, and that is completely okay.
The good news is that reading is no longer limited to physical books. There are so many ways to enjoy stories and information today:
• eBooks and e-readers: Kindle, Kobo & BOOX
• Audiobooks
• Podcasts and storytelling platforms
• Articles and blogs
• Graphic novels and comics
• Short-form digital content
To be completely honest, my form of reading changes daily. You aren’t stuck with just one form. I go from reading on my phone during a daily commute to a hardback book when I am lounging at home.
The most important thing is not how you read. It is that you find a format that makes reading enjoyable, accessible, and sustainable for you.
