August 2026: My Most Anticipated Releases

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already June! 2026 is flying by. With the first half of 2026 approaching, here is a look at my most anticipated reads for August 2026.

August never fails to have a good lineup of exciting reads with new fantasy, romance and graphic novels. From highly anticipated sequels to brand new books, here are the 4 books I am most excited to get my hands on.

Adversary to the Villain: (Assistant to the Villain Book 4)

Release Date: August 4, 2026

The next installment in the beloved Assistant to the Villain series promises more humour, romance, and magical chaos. As a fan of cozy fantasy, this is easily one of my most anticipated releases of the year.

The Magic We Made
By Meg Cabot
Release Date: August 11, 2026

Meg Cabot is back with a new magical story that has already caught my attention. I’m looking forward to diving into this one and seeing what she has in store for readers.

Villains Are Destined to Die, Vol. 9
By Gwon Gyeoeul
Release Date: August 18, 2026

As someone who has been following this series, I am excited to continue Penelope’s journey. This volume is sure to deliver plenty of drama, twists, and beautiful illustrations.

The Poison Daughter
By Sheila Masterson
Release Date: August 18, 2026

Dark fantasy and intriguing premises are always hard for me to resist, and The Poison Daughter sounds like it could be one of the standout releases of the month. This will also be a new author for me. I am excited to explore one of her works.

    Great list! I like how you included a mix of fantasy, romance, and graphic novels. I’m currently about halfway through Demons by Fyodor Dostoevsky, so I’m hoping to finish that by August before picking up something new.
